HITMEN v EASTBOURNE - PREVIEW

Friday September 07, 2018
BUXTON entertain the high-flying Eastbourne Eagles at the Hi-Edge Raceway on Sunday afternoon (3pm) in the Travel Plus National League.

The Hitmen have already faced the Eagles this season when they crashed to a 60-30 defeat at the Arlington Stadium at the beginning of the season and Buxton skipper Tom Woolley knows it won’t be an easy task when the two sides clash on Sunday saying “Eastbourne are a quality side and have been in good form recently only losing out to Mildenhall last Sunday in the league. They are currently third in the table and have riders like Georgie Wood and Tom Brennan in good form and they like the smaller track also as Buxton is similar to Arlington so we will need to be at our best. I’ve been scoring okay as has Ben (Wilson) and Connor (Coles) who has returned from injury and is really piling the points in so hopefully we can keep in close and make a good meeting of it.”
The Hitmen will once again utilise the rider replacement facility to cover for James Cockle.

The Eagles have Georgie Wood leading the side with Tom Brennan providing solid back-up with Jason Edwards and Charley Powell looking to support the top two while the Eagles will use rider replacement to cover for the absence of Mark Baseby. Ethan Spiller and Charlie Brooks complete the Eastbourne side who will be looking to cement their place in the top three.
