MILDENHALL v HITMEN - PREVIEW

Friday May 11, 2018
BUXTON make the trip to Suffolk to face he Mildenhall Fen Tigers in the Travel Plus National League at the West Row Stadium on Sunday afternoon, 3pm.

The Fen Tigers are many pundits title favourites for the 2018 season and have started the season well but suffered a couple of injuries in their narrow defeat at Birmingham in the KO Cup on Wednesday night where they lost skipper Jordan Jenkins and Sam Bebee to injury. The Tigers have Josh Bailey leading the way and he is well supported by Danny Ayres with Ryan Kinsley riding the West row track well for the home side this season. Kent’s Anders Rowe has been drafted in for the injured Jordan Jenkins while the Suffolk side will use rider replacement to cover for Sam BeBee. At reserve the Tigers have Matt Marson and talented teenager Drew Kemp who has been scoring double figures on a regular basis for the West Row based club.

The Hitmen will themselves be using rider replacement for the injured Connor Coles who sustained a fractured ankle in the home defeat to Coventry last Sunday. The facilty for Coles means that all of the Buxton riders will be eligible to cover his rides. The Hitmen have also received a massive boost with the news that David Wallinger is fit to resume racing strengthening the Hitmen line-up and he will give solid support to skipper Tom Woolley and number one Ben Wilson at the top end of the team.

Hitmen team manager Joshua Moss commented “First of all I’d like to wish the Mildenhall boys that were injured at Birmingham Jordan Jenkins and Sam Bebee well as well as Bimringham captain Mitchell Davey. We are going to what a lot of people believe are the clear favourites to win everything this year so it’s not going to be an easy meeting for us. We’re boosted by the news that Dave (Wallinger) is returning to the side from injury this weekend but losing Connor (Coles) who will now miss the majority of the season after having surgery on Tuesday to his ankle to fix the break the boys know what the targets are for the team and also themselves and we are going to give it our best shot and that’s all we can ask.”
