KINSLEY JOINS THE HITMEN

Wednesday June 07, 2017
Buxton have moved swiftly following the withdrawal of King’s Lynn Youngstars from this year’s National League to sign Ryan Kinsley. 18 year old Kinsley has spent his whole career in East Anglia and Hitmen Team boss Jason Pipe is delighted to have ‘got his man’

‘Having waited for Ryan to weigh up his options over the last couple of weeks, I'm over the moon that Ryan has chosen to come to Buxton to further his Career development. For me, he is on a false average and this has been down to him trying to get used to the new GRT (Gerhard) engine and trying to get it dialled in. He will start on his GM engine with us and test out the GRT around our track to see how it goes there. Ryan slots in to the team very nicely on his 4.00 average as a 2nd string and I've said to him, without putting too much pressure on, that I'm expecting 4-5 points a meeting from him at least, which I think he's more than capable of achieving. A few clubs have been chasing Ryan since the King's Lynn Young Stars had to sadly drop out of the league a couple of weeks ago. I feel honoured that Ryan has chosen Buxton. Ryan did explain to me that by coming to a Sunday track, he wouldn't have to take any time off work for home meetings, which went in our favour, riding Buxton will hopefully help him when it comes to riding the smaller tracks, as he mentioned to me that he really needs to ride a smaller track more often and openly admitted that he does prefer the bigger tracks. Ryan has shown in previous visits to Buxton with King's Lynn, that he can get around Hi-Edge. I'd like to thank Ben Basford, who has come in to help us out, which was always only temporary, when we brought Max in to our team and we had to wait around to bring in that 2nd string rider, like we now have. I'd also like to Thank the King's Lynn promotion for allowing Ryan to join up with us, especially my mentor over the years and good friend, Dale Allitt, who has been instrumental in us bringing him to Buxton and he will be still working with Lynn asset Ryan and will be with Ryan in the pits on the odd occasions when his commitments allow, which will also be good for me to have him around me!! Ryan will make his Buxton debut at home to Mildenhall this Sunday at number 2, before he moves to the number 3 or 4 position for the following meeting and Shelby going in to his preferred number 2 spot.’

Kinsley himself is delighted to be joining the Hitmen. ‘After having chats with Dale (Allitt) and the family I have come to the decision to join Buxton, I believe it will help me improve as a rider having a small track as a home track. Buxton works well for me being a Sunday track as it means I don't have to book many days off work and also works well for the family with traveling etc. I already get on very well with some of the riders and Jason Pipe and I have had some good scores in the past round Buxton’
