WOOLLEY BACK AT HI-EDGE

Wednesday December 21, 2016
The Hitmen’s third signing of the 2017 season sees the return of a very familiar face to the Dales and team boss Jason Pipe is delighted to see the return of one of Buxton’s favourite sons.

‘I'm over the moon that Tom is returning to work with me at Buxton next season. Tom is very popular and well liked at Buxton he is one of our own!

It was disappointing that we couldn't fit him in to our own plans last season, but this was down to him having an Operation on his shoulder, which he so desperately needed. There was talk of Buxton starting their 2016 season much earlier in the middle of March away at Birmingham and we knew Tom wouldn't be ready to start that early. In hindsight, we should have maybe waited to see?!! This led to Tom being loaned out to Belle Vue for the season. However, I think this worked out in Tom's favour as I thought and did say to Tom at the end of the 2015 season that maybe a season away from Buxton would do him the world of good, which I think has done. Even though he was on loan at the National Stadium last season, it was good to see him scoring well in quite a few meetings, even against Buxton!

Tom guested a few times for us at home in the latter part of last season and he rode the track like a track specialist with some very good scores and some of those from the number 1 spot! It was great to see him back to being the rider we all know. I'm really looking forward to working with him again in 2017. Tom will start the season in the number 3 or 4 position, which he's very happy about. Now fully fit and sleeker, I can see Tom putting another 1.00 - 1.50 points on to his starting average of 4.90 and having his best season yet in the sport.’
The Burton flyer began his speedway career at Buxton and is also delighted to be returning to his spiritual home ‘ I’m really excited to be back and to see what this season brings, I enjoyed my trips back up there this season and I'm hoping we can both move forward and have a positive year.’
